PREVENTION & INTERVENTION OF HOMELESSNESS
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

Rent/Utility Assistance Program


This program assists low income families with basic needs – shelter and heat.  Through rental assistance and utility intervention, we help prevent homelessness. This program is designed for emergency use. Eligible clients can receive this type of assistance from the NPCC once per year.

Program requirements:
- Visit your City/Town Welfare Office and obtain Notice of Decision - First
- Call Care Center to schedule an appointment with the Case Technician

Bring with you to appointment:
- Form of picture identification
- Proof of all income & expenses (copies of all bills, pay stubs, etc)
- Notice of Decision from City/Town Welfare Office
- Utility shut-off notice-(utility assistance)
- Eviction notice/Notice to quit (rent assistance)


Security Deposit Program

NPCC serves as an agent for the State of NH.  Designed for for low income families, this program provides a voucher guarantee to landlords in the amount of the security deposit. The loan is repaid by the borrower to the Care Center over a period of 18 months with no interest.

Program requirements:
- Must show ability to meet monthly expenses including loan payment
- No prior defaults
- Landlord must accept voucher
- Approval required before moving in
- Must have steady income for at least 3 months

How to apply
- Download and complete the Security Deposit Loan Program Application First
  Applications are also available at the Care Center.
- Once application is complete and signed by future landlord - Call Care Center to schedule an   appointment with the Case Technician.
- CLIENT CANNOT MOVE INTO APARTMENT UNTIL APPLICATION HAS BEEN PROCESSED BY THE   CARE CENTER - - NO EXCEPTIONS CAN BE MADE.

Bring with you to appointment:
- Form of picture Identification
- Completed application with all requested materials

Revolving Loan Fund

This loan program assists families with mortgages to avoid foreclosure.

Program requirements:
- This is a one-time opportunity for assistance
- Maximum amount of $2,500
- Lien placed on the property
- Loan must be paid back
- Call Care Center for more information and to schedule an appointment with the   Case Technician.
