Transitional Housing - Program Requirements

Phase I - The Norwell Home
Phase I is the entry point for young mothers
and their children. The Norwell Home provides subsidized housing for up to eight families who live together with 24-hour supervision. Here they are closely monitored and evaluated in order to implement an appropriate individual plan for case management.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Women between ages of 18 – 35
- Pregnant, or mother of no more than 3 children less than 10 years of age
- Have ability to attend higher education or job skill training program
- Cannot be involved with drugs or alcohol (Must have at least 6 months’ sobriety)
- Not applying or receiving long term disability (SSI)
- Willing to participate in individual and group therapy sessions as deemed necessary
- Can remain in Phase I for six months up to one year
- Rent is $340 a month, includes utilities
Phase II
Phase II is available for any client who successfully completes Phase I and has adhered to all program rules. The program consists of families living in individual apartments with a housing contract between the family and the agency.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be current with rent and utility bills
- Willing to participate in IDA Savings Program (Individual Development Account)
- Have security deposit paid in full
- Combined school/work must equal full time
- Actively participate in individual and group therapy
- Can remain in Phase II for up to two years
- Rent is $340 - $370 a month, does NOT include utilities
